The internationalization of RMB is a crucial supporting point for a big country, which is also a complex process. This is not merely about monetary or financial issue but rather, this is about "globalization of China". Anbound's chief researcher, Chen Gong, is of the view that there are still different opinions on how to globalize such as its direction and extent. It is inevitable that during the development process, there will be competitions, ups and downs and setbacks. The truth is, this is not what Zhou Xiaochuan, the central bank governor, nor China, can decide alone. However, irrespective of the way China chooses, the internationalization of RMB is the basic, fundamental step that must be taken to realize the “globalization of China”.
