The public-private partnership (PPP) model from developed countries is experiencing problems in China. Anbound's chief researcher Chen Gong suggested that this is rooted in different market and policy environment in China. If there are mass entries of PPP projects, there will be a large number of project backlogs. PPP projects in China are more suitable for developed areas, not poorer areas. Local governments, especially those of poorer area should chose bonds to raise fund instead of using PPP.
